Florida School District Matching Grant Program

Recognizing that private contributions can play an important role in enabling school districts to achieve a margin of excellence within existing state and local funding, the Florida legislature has allocated funds for School District Matching Grant Program.

This program provides each school district through their designated local K-12 public education foundation the opportunity to strengthen private/public partnerships. It offers private donors the incentive of dollar for dollar state matching funds for programs benefiting one or more of the following priorities: teacher recruitment and retention projects; literacy; technical career education; and support for low-performing students and schools.

Since 2001, $12.5 million dollars has been allocated by the legislature for the School District Matching Grant Program and has leveraged more than  $30 million in private matching dollars.

Local education foundations apply for the grants through the Consortium which is the fiscal agent for the program. Visit the Member Foundations section for specific information on grant programs for the county in which you are interested or contact India Witte at indiawitte@cfef.net.
